Thomas “Tom” Marvin Fargo of Allegan passed away at home on May 3, 2019, after a brief illness surrounded by loved ones. He was 65.
Tom, or as he often introduced himself ‘Thomas Marvin Fargo of the World,” was born July 22, 1953, in Dowagiac.
Aside from a few months’ work in Arizona, he was a lifelong resident of Michigan. He worked in the steel industry for more than 30 years, retiring in 2004.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a former state champion trap shooter. Living in Southwest Michigan gave him plenty of opportunity to indulge in two of his favorite hobbies, snow plowing and driving the back roads spotting wildlife.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Virginia (Kitchell) Fargo of Allegan.
He is survived by his wife Connie Fargo; daughters, Virginia Fargo of Arizona, Katie (Alex) Haley of Otsego, Stacey (Karl) Allen of Tennessee, Wendy (Dave) Kay of Allegan, and Carolyn Confer of Pullman; his brother Melvin (Brenda) Fargo of Allegan; his sister Sheila (Reggie) Kelley of Allegan; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wings of Hope of Allegan, whose help during Tom’s final days was greatly appreciated.
