It’s with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Joyce announces her passing after a brief illness on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the age of 80.
Born Sept. 7, 1938, to Howard and Lois Eckley, Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her children. She was raised in Tekamah, Neb., and the most important thing to her was family.
Surviving children are Grant (Sherrie) Iske, Denise Osborn, Michelle Iske, Dennis (Janet) Joyce, Kevin (Liz) Joyce, Kathy Hensley, Mark (Lorna) Joyce and Lisa Joyce; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and cousins and friends.
Cheryl was a long-time member of the Allegan community, working for the Chamber of Commerce, Allegan County Board of Tourism and at Allegan Cellular. She worked in the Congregational Kitchen and helped collect donations for the Allegan Community Closet.
She loved socializing, dining out, gardening and was an avid Nebraska football fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carolyn Eckley, husband James Joyce Sr., step-son James Joyce Jr., and son-in-law CJ Osborn.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Allegan Wings of Hope Hospice who helped her with such compassion during her time of need.
A memorial service will be at First Congregational Church of Allegan, on Tuesday, May 14, at 2 p.m.
