Merle Cornell, 90

Merle Cornell, 90, of Ludington and previously of Allegan, died May 22, 2016. She was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Chicago, Ill.
Merle moved to Allegan after getting married and remained in Allegan until several years ago. She married Robert Cornell on Feb. 22, 1946, in Chicago, Ill. They had been married for 70 years.
Merle was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Allegan.
She was a homemaker, wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her loving family, reading, and in her many flower beds.
Surviving are her husband Robert Cornell; daughter Linda Cornell (Bill); two sons, Rob Cornell (Phyllis) and Rob Cornell (Yee Min Chuan); six grandchildren, Michelle Weus (Joe), Chad Nimitz (Rhonda), Gregg Cornell (Sara), Nicole Fumarolo (Larry), Tim Cornell and Chris Cornell; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, plus one due in July.
She was preceeded in death by a sister.
Cremation has taken place.

John H. Roberts, 93

John H. Roberts, 93, of Brighton passed away peacefully at his home late Monday morning, May 30, 2016. Born on June 22, 1922, in St. Marys, W. Va., he was the son of David A. and Sarah L. (Campbell) Roberts.  
A Brighton area resident since 1968, John was a United States Army veteran and retired well driller. Quite the character, John loved smoking cigarettes and pipes, but always had a chew of tobacco in his cheek. He enjoyed mowing his grass, driving around in his red Cadillac convertible and had been a scratch golfer and bowler. He also loved coaching baseball, animals, and most of all, being surrounded by his family.  
He was the beloved husband of Barbara R. Roberts, who preceded him in death exactly two weeks ago on May 16, 2016. They would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on May 18, 2016. He was the loving father of David (Carol) Roberts of Brighton, Barbara (Don) Baruzzini of Howell, Jonathon Roberts of Brighton, Joseph (Louise) Roberts of Springhill, Fla., and William (Lori) Roberts of Howell. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is Hoover, their beloved black lab.  
John was preceded in death by his siblings, Angelo Roberts, Massie Cooper, Mattie Humecky, Jack Roberts and Katie Bentley.  
A funeral service in celebration of John's life will be Thursday, June 9, at 1:30 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. at MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800). Interment will follow at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brighton Township.  
Memorial contributions are suggested to the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Delores 'Deedee' (Lewis) Engle, 78

Delores "Deedee" (Lewis) Engle, 78, of Dorr went to join her parents, Theodore and Margarette Lewis, on June 2, 2016.
Deedee loved to sing and enjoyed cooking for others. She was a hard worker and loved time with her family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Stella "Marie" and Jack Farmer, Norma and Harold Lenz, Nancy and Terry LaFountain and Patricia Wolhuis; her brother, Ben and Henrietta "Etta" Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by nephew Jimmy LaFountain; niece Jody Bartholomew; brother-in-law Lawrence Wolhuis; stepfather Mart Isenhoff; and her lifelong partner Jack Mead.
Friends may spend time with her family on Monday, June 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Dorr, where a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Graham officiating.
A private graveside service will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Orangeville.

Evelyn May Mort, 93

Evelyn May Mort, 93, of Lake Hamilton, Fla., passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at Life Care Center in Winter Haven, Fla.  She was born March 16, 1922, in Watervliet to the late James P. and Maude B. (Hathaway) DeGroff.
Evelyn had been a resident of Florida since 1977, coming from Allegan. She was an electric welder for the Tru Heat Corporation in Allegan.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph R. Mort; and son Joseph C. Mort.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Mort and wife Barbara of Lake Hamilton, Fla., and James Mort and wife Judy of Bloomingdale; sisters, Alice Culver of Allegan and Doris Wacob of Fennville; brothers, James DeGroff of Paw Paw and George DeGroff and wife Verlie of Holland; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday July 2, at 12:30 p.m. at Bloomingdale Telephone Company Community Room, Bloomingdale, Mich.

Greg Austin Melvin, 49

Greg Austin Melvin, 49, passed away June 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born May 6, 1967, in Kalamazoo, the son of Gary and Joan Melvin.
Greg grew up in Martin, graduated from Martin High School and received a bachelor's degree in 1989 from Central Michigan University. He married his college sweetheart Lisa Pileri on June 16, 1990. He completed his Master of Business Administration in 2013, while fighting cancer.
Greg, a devoted family man, loved his wife and children dearly and planned many family outings and activities to be with them. They hiked, biked, took trips or just had an ice cream cone-anything for fun and adventure.
Diagnosed with cancer five years ago, life took on a new urgency for him as he was hospitalized, received treatments, raised his family, and continued to work. His zest for living and determination to live life at its fullest were testimonials to those who loved him.
Greg enjoyed sports, especially golfing with his friends from around the state. He had a sense of humor and magnetism that drew life-long friends who loved and supported him in his life journey.
He had a rewarding career in employee communications in hospitals, banks and healthcare, most recently at Terumo Cardiovascular, where he was the senior marketing communications specialist.
He was a former board member of IABC (International Association of Business Communicator) and president of Interchange, a West Michigan communications group. He also served as Elder at Peace Lutheran Church.
Greg is survived by his wife Lisa; children, Christine, Sam, Courtney and Katrina Melvin; his parents, Joan and Gary Melvin of Kalamazoo; his sister Diane Melvin of Plainwell; his nephew Joshua Melvin; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be at Peace Lutheran Church, 8260 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor, on Tuesday, June 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 15, from 10 to11 a.m.
Celebration of life services will also be at Peace Lutheran on Wednesday, June 15, at 11 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, for Greg's family or Arbor Hospice.
An additional celebration of Greg's life will be Saturday, June 18, from 12 to 2 p.m., at Martin United Methodist Church, 969 E. Allegan St., Martin, with a light lunch served at noon and a time to remember Greg with memories from his family and friends from 1 to 2 p.m.

Janice (Jan) Ruth Stephens, 69

Janice (Jan) Ruth Stephens, 69, of Allegan and Oklahoma City, suddenly passed away June 14, 2016, due to an aneurysm and then a stroke at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo where she was surrounded by family and friends. She was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Kalamazoo.
She is survived by husband Bob Stephens of Allegan and Oklahoma City, Okla., whom she married Nov. 23, 2001; children, Todd (Jennifer) Housel of Oklahoma City and Josh (Lorrain) Stephens of Plainwell; granddaughters, Amelia Housel of Oklahoma City and Carissa Stephens of Plainwell; her furry little babies, Maggie and Snoopy; brothers, Fran (Sharon) Dunham and Gary (Candi) Dunham; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends; and special friends, Carol and Roger Brock of Otsego.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vaughn A. and Elgie (May) Dunham; grandparents, Oscar and Ruth Burger and Clinton and Charlotte "Lottie" (Brown) Dunham; sister Kay Greene; and brother Ronald Meninga.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place with no memorial service in accordance with her wishes.

Nicky C. Huff, 72

Nicky C. Huff, 72, of Allegan passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Allegan County Medical Care Community.
Nicky was born Jan. 11, 1944, in Allegan the son of Mitchell and Eliza Huff and had lived the majority of his life in the Bangor, Glendale and Allegan areas.
He retired after nearly 29 years of service with Rockwell International and had owned the Tar Paper Shack in Allegan for many years.  
He enjoyed fireworks, flea markets, garage sales and going to the dog track. He also enjoyed playing cards and riding motorcycles.  
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Dorothy "Dollie;" seven children, Brenda (Ken) Breon of Allegan, Lisa Martin of Allegan, Penny (Doug) Barnes of Allegan, Tracey (Lori) Jorgensen of Texas, Pam, Tim (Paula) of North Carolina and Troy (Phoebee) Jorgensen of South Haven; 23 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Lauer of Illinois; two brothers, Art (Bette) Huff of Gobles and Barney Huff of Bloomingdale; and many nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Connie Huff; and a brother-in-law John Lauer.  
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at the Eagles Lodge in Allegan at a later date.
The family would like to greatly thank the staff at the Allegan County Medical Care Facility for the wonderful care they provided to Nicky and his family.

James Michael Adams, 66

James Michael (Jim, Mike, Mickey) Adams, 66, of Aurora, Ill., passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, surrounded by his family and friends after a severe stroke.  He was vacationing in Florida.
He was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Aurora, Ill., to his parents, the late Dorothy A. (Chione) and the late William Adams of Aurora, Ill.
Jim worked in advertising at the Beacon Newspaper in Aurora for 36 years.  He was a long time resident of Aurora and Yorkville, Ill., before retiring to Allegan.
Jim was an avid sports fan and cheered on his White Sox. He loved to read, especially history and politics, listen to music, plant in his garden and spoil his pets.  He was a watcher of all CNN current news events and the weather as well as a civil war and trivia buff.
He is survived by his wife of 38-and-a-half wonderful years, Maryann (Zigulich) of Allegan; and his two children, Christopher Adams of Chicago, Ill., and Anna Adams of Washington, D.C., of whom he loved and was so proud. He leaves behind many cousins in Colorado; his three brothers-in-law, Daniel (Deb Gardner) Zigulich, Phillip (Sharon) Zigulich and Joseph (Patricia Berner) Zigulich; and one sister-in-law, Carol (Jimmy Flannery) Zigulich. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, one great nephew, and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, July 1, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 110 N. Cedar Street, Allegan, where a memorial mass will be at 11 a.m., Father Rev. Alan P. Jorgensen officiating.

George Mason Clark, 93

George Mason Clark, resident of the Douglas lakeshore since 1936 and also of Vernon Hills, Ill., died Wednesday June 15, 2016, after a short illness. He was 93.
He was born in Brookline, Mass., grew up in Urbana, Ill., and spent the greater part of his adult life in Columbus, Ohio, where he worked both as a practicing architect and as a well-loved full professor of architecture at Ohio State University.
He attended DePauw University and was a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Master's Degree in Architectural Engineering. He was a professional member of AIA.
He served with the United States Navy in World War II with the Third Fleet aboard the USS Nashville and the USS Phoenix in the South Pacific.
He loved spending time with his extended family and many lakeshore friends, walking the beach, sailing, tossing horseshoes or just engaging in good conversation. He was active with the Douglas Lakeshore Association. He loved refurbishing and restoring lakeshore homes; George also volunteered with Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Society to record and preserve the history of the Michigan Cottage. He also generously donated his time and skills to Trinity Episcopal Church, Columbus and to St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, Libertyville, Ill. as they restored and remodeled their facilities.
He was a diehard Cubs fan, always hopefully waiting for "next year."
His wife of 69 years, Jean Flanigan Clark, predeceased him in 2013.
He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Clark Richards, of Novi; two daughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Clark Swank (Ralph) of Vernon Hills, Ill., and Mary (Molly) Clark Siebert (David) of Grayslake, Ill.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Lisa) Swank Bako (Tom) and Sarah Swank Mullen (Brian) both of Grayslake, Ill., David Siebert, MD of Seattle and Mark Siebert of Fairfax, Va. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Bako and Abigail, Sean and Kate Mullen.
Services will be Saturday, July 2, at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church in Libertyville, Ill.  Visitation is at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m., with interment following in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed in his name at either St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, Libertyville Ill. or at the Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Society.

Emily Marie Drapak, 90

Emily Marie Drapak, 90, of Douglas passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Holland Hospital. Born on Dec. 27, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Joseph and Kathryn (Smollen) Stepnik.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband John Drapak and two sisters, Helen and Irene.
Surviving are her children, Joanne Gilliam of Douglas, Nancy Harvey of Fennville and John and Vicky Drapak of Douglas; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother Stanley Stepnik of Streamwood, Ill.; brother-in-law Joe Drapak of Chicago; and many nieces and nephews.
At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 12:30 p.m. at the Saugatuck Yacht Club, 15 Park St., Saugatuck, MI 49453. A luncheon will follow.

Boyd D. Blaine, 77

Boyd D. Blaine of Otsego passed away peacefully on June 18, 2016, while surrounded by family. After 77 years of dedication to family and friends, Boyd leaves behind three sons, Rod (Julie), Eric (Paul) and Brian (Becky) Blaine; his loving wife, Sandi and her children, Brian (Shawn) Marr and Jessica (Scott) Lakey. He is also survived by his sister Viola of Port Huron.
Boyd was a family first blessing to his children and took delight in being active in the lives of his grandchildren, Allison (Ryan), Lauren (Kyle), Austin, Anna, Samantha, Jacob, Ethan and Malea. Pool time at grandma and grandpa's house was an exciting time for Boyd and his entire family.
He maintained a strong work ethic throughout his life. Boyd served his country through the Army Reserves right out of high school. He was employed by Rockwell in Allegan for 30 years during which he also worked part-time for the sheriff's department (Allegan County fairgrounds), for the Saugatuck police department and as a process server for the court. He was the owner of Movies in Motion for several years and recently retired from Harold Ziegler.  
He enjoyed hundreds of rounds of golf, working with his hands and giving time and advice to his friends and family. He will always be loved and missed by his family that knew he was there for anything they needed.
A family celebration of Boyd's life will be in the near future. The kingdom of Heaven celebrates his arrival.

John T.H. Preston, 72

John T.H. Preston, 72, of Hopkins passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016, at his home.  Mr. Preston was born on Oct. 1, 1943, in Birmingham, England, the son of the late Harry and Jean (Fillery) Preston.
John came to the United States from England, found the love of his life, Susie, and they married on Dec. 26, 1966, at the United Methodist Church in Allegan, celebrating almost 50 years together.  
Together they had a son, Tom, and thoroughly enjoyed being a family and making wonderful memories through the years.  
John spent more than 12 years as a dairy farmer. He went on to become a mechanical engineer, which led to his job as a field service engineer, working for SCM Group out of Italy for more than 30 years.  
Spare time was spent gardening, taking pictures or watching old western movies on TV.  He also had a knack for fixing anything that needed fixing.  
Diagnosed with aggressive cancer 2 1/2 years ago, John maintained a very positive, go-for-it attitude, continued to love life, his family and worked right up to the end.  He was an inspiration to many.
John is survived by his loving wife Susie; their son, Tom and Pam Preston; six grandchildren, Thomas and Kayla, Zachery and Anthony, Cassandra, Sabrina, Corey, and Fallon; and three great-grandchildren, Shelbie, Dailynn, and Braeden.  He was preceded in death by one brother Bobbie; one sister Ann; and one great-grandson Jaxon.
Friends may meet with the family for a Celebration of Life gathering on Wednesday, July 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel.

Harold Brooks (Cass) Cassady, 91

Harold Brooks (Cass) Cassady, 91, of Douglas passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016, at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Kempton, W. Va., to Marshall and Alcinda (Loughry) Cassady.
Harold attended Davis High School in Davis, W. Va., and at 17, quit to join the Navy. He served in World War II aboard the destroyer, USS Storms and was in the battle of Okinawa.
After the war, he traveled to Grand Rapids to work in the furniture industry and there is where he met the love of his life, Phyllis. He then worked at Parke-Davis Chemical Co. in Holland for 33 years, retiring as the second shift supervisor.
Harold was a member of the Holland VFW and the Saugatuck American Legion. He loved to hunt, fish, even going to Wyoming to hunt antelope and Canada to hunt elk and bear. Harold and Phyllis loved to spend their winters in Arizona and their summers at Whiskey Creek in Scottville, Mich., and loved to go to the casinos.
Surviving are his wife Phyllis; his children, Kathleen and Dean Johnson of Douglas and Michael Cassady of Allegan; sister Gladys Rains of Cleveland, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Mary Buehler of Newago, Madeline and Bill Cross of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Leonard and Gene; and sister Arveda.
At his request, cremation has taken place and family services have been held.

Donna Parker, 76

Donna Parker, 76, of Allegan, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.  Mrs. Parker was born on Nov. 1, 1939, in Angola, Ind., to the late Perry and Elizabeth (Calver) Warstler.  
Donna was adopted by the late Hazel Warstler, who raised her as her own. She will be greatly missed. Donna has been a woman of faith, strength and grace.  
She worked for Perrigo Company for 20 years, retiring in 2002 due to health reasons. She was a faithful, loving member of Christ Community Church, always referring to them as her "church family." 
Donna was well-traveled, living in Elgin, Ill., California, Alabama and Michigan. She always liked an adventure or trip. She enjoyed "soaps," reading, word find puzzles, bingo and all activities. But most of all, she enjoyed visits from her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Parker.   
She is survived by her children, Donna and Robert Cagle and Richard Parker; four grandchildren,  twins, Cassandra and Robert, Josh, and Elizabeth; one great-grandson, Owen Joshua, who was the light of her life; three brothers, Eugene and Susan Warstler, Dale and Roseann Warstler and Larry Warstler; six sisters, Barbara and Ray Webb, Laura McMann, Mary and David Nelson, Darlene Sellgren, Joan and Stan Morris and Sharon and Ernie Coffey.  
Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, July 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 14, at 12 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 3370 113th Ave., Allegan, MI 49010. Pastor Wally Coots will officiate. Interment will be at Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Township.

Anthony Jon Baker, 43

Anthony Jon Baker, 43, of Allegan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on Aug. 23, 1972.
Tony was a 1990 graduate of Pennfield High School and then served in the United States Army for 10 years in the infantry and as a recruiter for Allegan County.
Tony is survived by his parents, Gene (Sarah) Baker of Phoenix, Ariz., and Bernice (Ozzie) LaFleur of Battle Creek; companion Tory Francisco of Allegan; son Derek Anderson-Baker of Allegan; sisters, Leslie (Jason) Fields of Battle Creek and Monica (Carlos Nunez) Baker of Phoenix, Ariz.; step-brothers, Scott and Shawn Gehring; step-sister Sara Cunningham; maternal grandmother Maxine Rindels of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and a loving extended family.
Tony loved spending time with his son Derek. He was a master beer brewer and Lions football fan. He loved spending time with his dog "Brewer" and enjoyed fishing and visiting local breweries. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, Battle Creek, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

Karl M. Ferris Jr., 74

Karl M. Ferris Jr., 74, of Cheshire Township, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, at his home. Mr. Ferris was born May 8, 1942, in Allegan, the son of the late Karl and Sara (Hammer) Ferris.
Karl married Jeanette (Earle) Hampton on July 12, 1980, celebrating just shy of 36 years of married life together.  He enjoyed their family time and was very proud of each of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  
Karl loved the outdoors and spending time camping, golfing, fishing and hunting.  During basketball season, one would find Karl watching and cheering on his favorite team, Hope College. He also enjoyed playing a great game of pool. Together, Karl and Jeanette enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona, soaking up the sunshine instead of the cold Michigan weather.  
Karl was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324, retiring in 1998 after working over 40 years in the field.  During his career, he worked for Pickett Schreur, Wyoming Asphalt, Reith and Riley, Milbocker and Sons, Inc., and Peters Construction from which he retired.
 Karl is survived by his loving wife Jeanette; their children, Amy and Will Zeran, Karl III and Sherri Ferris, Kim and Paul Bloss, Shelly and Scott Jirgens, and Eric Hampton; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ilene Akerly, Virginia Leins, and Winifred Miller; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Nathan and sister, Florence Morris.
A graveside service will be at Lindsley Cemetery (corner of 104th Ave. and 41st St., Allegan, MI 49010) on Monday, July 18, at 11 a.m. Pastor Bert Baker will officiate.  A Remembrance Luncheon will be at Cheshire Golf Course, 3829 102nd Ave., Allegan, MI 49010, immediately following the service. Interment will be at Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Township.   
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Karl's name to the Saint Mary's Foundation to assist the Hauenstein Neuroscience Center in their research on essential tremors and the American Heart Association.

Grant Rogers Burd, age 6 months of Fennville, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, at Helen DeVos Children's hospital in Grand Rapids.  
Born Jan. 5, 2016, in Grand Rapids, he was the son of Dana and Kara (Hawes) Burd.  Grant is survived by his parents, Dana and Kara; twin brother Griffin; brother Holden; sister Hadley; paternal grandparents, Stephen and Marsha Burd; maternal grandparents, Calvin and Wendy Hawes; and great-grandfathers, Marvin Burd and Raymond Borcherding.  
The family will hold a private burial service to honor Grant.

Patricia Ann McVea, 78, of Holland, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, at Appledorn Living Center.
Patricia was employed at Holland Furnace and Holland Hitch. In between working she stayed at home and helped raise her three children.
Patricia enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, paint by numbers and decorating for Christmas. She was a huge fan of Elvis, visiting Graceland in 2007.
After 43 years of marriage she was preceded in death by her husband William C. McVea II in 2005.
She is survived by her children, William and Barbara McVea of Holland, Mark McVea of Douglas and Kathy and Kipp Hofmeyer of Holland; grandchildren, Wendy (Kathy Osterman) Forrester, William C. (Melissa) McVea III, Linda McVea, Kelseigh and Kerensa Hofmeyer; two great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Ken Koning of Holland and Marcia Greving of Holland; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Thursday, July 14, at 3 p.m., at Christ Memorial Chapel, 595 Graafschap Road in Holland. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Please use entrance D. Reverend Bill Boersma will be officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.

Robert 'Bob' Lee, 74

Robert "Bob" Lee, 74, of Allegan, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Holland Hospital.
Robert was born in Bedford, Ind., on March 9, 1942, to William and Dana (Hickman) Lee. He graduated from high school and served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He married his wife Georgia and they moved to Owosso. Bob and Georgia and family lived in Owosso for 19 years before moving to Allegan for the past nine years. Bob was the owner of All Season Maintenance and Distributing. He was a member of the Allegan Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife Georgia of 34 years; children, Betrina and Dan Stitt, Cassie and Matt Wissink, Justina and Chamus Gilbert, Bobby Lee, Diana Thompson, Brian Heger and Trudy Coon; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his children, Dana Lee, Brianna Lee, and Scott Lee.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St., Holland. A memorial service will be Thursday, July 14, at 2 p.m. at Allegan Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2199 Taft Road, Allegan, 49010.

Delores (Dolly/Dee) Fenner, 83

Delores (Dolly/Dee) Fenner, 83, a long-time resident of Allegan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 15, 2016, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Facility in Coldwater.
She was born in a log cabin in Mongo, Ind., in 1932, to Ralph and Virginia (McMaken) Mann.
Her vocation was a bookkeeper and she was first employed in Sturgis. After moving to Allegan, she worked for Flashes Publications for many years as a head bookkeeper and personnel director.
She was very active in her community, including graduating from The Love Yourself Foundation with her sister, Tooge, becoming the first two Raggedy Anns in Michigan.  Dee became a certified clown as "Dr. Laugh You Can," using this and Raggedy Ann in visiting many nursing homes in the community.
She was instrumental in planning and building Allegan Christ Community Church and helped in any way she could.
Dee married Stan Fenner in 1978 and lovingly cared for him the last 10 years of his life until he succumbed to Alzheimer's disease in 2014.
She is survived by two children, Connie (Don) Carrigan and Mike (Mary) Velie of Indiana; two sisters, Tooge (Mann) Willyard, Tami (Mann) and Tim Littman; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  
Dee was preceded in death by her parents, husband and loving daughter, Cindee Eagan.
The memorial service for Dee will be Wednesday, July 20, at 1 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 3370 113th St., Allegan, MI  49010. Interment will be at East Martin Cemetery, Martin Township.
Memorial gifts in Dee's memory may be made to Christ Community Church, The Humane Society or a mission of one's choice.
