William Francis Abraham, 81, of Frostproof, FL (formerly Gobles, MI) passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 22 at his home.
William was born September 8, 1939 in Kalamazoo, MI to William T. and Genevieve R. (Theobald) Abraham.
William had a love for classic cars and hot rods and spent a lot of time tinkering and attending numerous car show events. He loved the Hot Rod and Street Car Nationals in Kalamazoo. He made many friends attending these, several of which he kept in contact with (Dave and Terry) over the years. William enjoyed meeting with his friends (Them Misfits Car Club) at Deano’s in Allegan/Plainwell. He also enjoyed boating, water skiing and loved performing karaoke at “The Crooked Bass” (FL).
William was an original member of the Allegan County Snowmobile Club and served as President and Vice President of the board for several years. He enjoyed grooming the trails and teaching snowmobile safety classes along with serving many functions of the club.
William had retired from General Motors (Kalamazoo) and was a proud member of the UAW.
William (Sharon) were the proprietors of the Richardson’s Trailer Park (Duck Lake, Gobles) for many years and had made everlasting friendships throughout those years at the park.
On September 9, 1961 William married Sharon (Richardson) who survives. He is also survived by his brother John Abraham (FL), daughters Kimberly (Tony) Saucedo (Plainwell) and Kelly (Dan) Ciolk (Hudsonville), several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends Dennis Mackling, Chuck and Helen Setter and Connie Koverman.
William was preceded in death by his daughter Christine (Quigley) and sister Donna (Abnet). Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial is being planned to honor William at one of the local car show events next year.
