Sharon Lee Shanahan Weber, 76, of Sarasota and Saugatuck, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 8, 2019. She was born in Elmhurst, Ill., on April 29, 1943 and grew up in Glen Ellyn.
Preceded in death by her parents, A. Burton and Ruth V. Hall, and brothers Warren and Bob, Sharon is survived by her husband Fred of 29 years, her brother Burt “Chip” Hall and his wife Sue, and her sister Sandra Janos and her husband Richard.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Following a successful career in computer sales, she retired.
Sharon loved to share time with family and friends, travel and workout. She spent several years volunteering in the turtle patrol and fish species identification and electronic monitoring programs at the MOTE marine laboratory and aquarium.
Sharon will be deeply missed by their children Patrick Jr. and Sharon Shanahan, Matthew Shanahan, Erick and Anna Weber, Megan and John Hogan, Tad and Natalie Blake-Weber.
She was the loving grandmother of Sarah, Colin, Margaret, Peter, Brett, Teddy, Bodie, Elijah and Zoe and great-grandmother to Olivia, Jack and Harlyn.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 14, from 3 to 4 p.m, at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 6903 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, Fla. 34231. Her celebration of life will continue from 4 p.m. on at the Woodside Terrace Clubhouse at 7048 Wood Creek Drive.
There will also be a celebration of life for Sharon in Saugatuck at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be made in Sharon's memory and directed to MOTE Marine Laboratory. Please be sure to note that your donation is being made in memory of Sharon.
