Mary Diane Shaner, 67, of Englewood, Fla., passes away on April 12, 2019.
She was born in Niles on Dec. 15, 1951, to Fred and Lorna Shaner, and graduated in 1970, from Niles High School.
Mary enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served as a surgical nurse. After serving, she attended Southwestern Michigan College earning her LPN.
She worked in Lansing and at Bronson Hospital then went to Allegan General Hospital for 27 years, retiring in December 2008. After retiring, she moved to Englewood, Fla.
Mary is survived by siblings, Phil (Sandy) Shaner of Cheshire, Ore., Janes Shaner of Englewood, Fla., Lori Shaner of Holland and Claudia (John Watson) Shaner of Otsego; four nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews
Cremation took place and services were at Community Presbyterian Church in Englewood, Fla. Ashes will be placed at Bay Pines Veterans Memorial Garden in St. Petersburg, Fla.
