Beverly Blanche Ann Stephenson, 80

Beverly Blanche Ann Stephenson, 80, of Osceola, Ind., formerly of Sturgis, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross in South Bend. 

Beverly was born Dec. 20, 1937, in Detroit to the late Lester and Agnes (McCormick) Young.

Surviving are her children, William Lee (Kirsten Malak) Stephenson of Portage, Danet Stephenson (John Hay) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robert L. (fiancée Valerie Core) Stephenson II of Goshen, Ind. Beverly is also survived by her brother Tom Young of Allegan and her grandchildren, Tisha Ann, Connor, and Kelsey. Surviving as well as her great-grandson Broc and great-granddaughters, Kamryn and Kayley.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Robert Lee Stephenson in January 2018; her son James Earl Stephenson; her brother Norm Young; and her sister-in-law Dolores Buffenbarger.

A celebration of life gathering will be held for Beverly from on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 2 to 5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 200 Pleasant St. Sturgis, Michigan, 49091.

Beverly was a homemaker and will be fondly remembered for putting her family first. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family; especially during the holidays when they were all home together again.

In her spare time, she loved to play cards and board games with her family and friends. In her younger years, she belonged to a bridge club, and loved taking her children fishing. She also enjoyed spending time visiting with her sorority sisters and she and her husband Bob had a booth at the Shipshewana Flea Market for many years.
