Eva June McEwen, 85, of Allegan passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at her home with her family by her side. Born June 10, 1933, in Watson Township, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel (VanHouten) Brown and was the wife of the late Leon McEwen.
Mrs. McEwen was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading. Above all else, however, the most important time in her life was spent with her grandchildren and sharing her faith in Jesus Christ.
Mrs. McEwen is survived by her children, Vickie Moore and husband Benjamin, Becky Robertson, Jim McEwen and Deb Ostrowski and husband Steve; sisters, Neva Wallace, Helen Wallace and Joyce Kolbeck; grandchildren, Mike and wife Anna, Rob, Cara and husband Tim, Cyndie, Chad, Chris, Kayla, Ryan, Caitlin and Mark; and great-grandchildren, Brookelyn, Jonathan, Matt, Bella, Lily and Ethan.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Bernard Brown, Raymond Brown and Jean Blair.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Gorden Funeral Residence from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Gruss officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
