Mason Robert Lievense, 26, of Holland passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018.
Mason was kindhearted and generous beyond measure. He had a quick wit, a wicked sense of humor, and always thought to make others laugh.
Mason was slow to anger and quick to forgive. He was an old school gentleman who loved history, geography, comics, video games, animals and all things chocolate. He had a big heart and sought to lift others up through his humor, there was never a dull moment when he was around.
Mason was dedicated to family and was a very humble person. He had his associate’s degree and sought to finish his bachelor’s degree while working at Farmers Insurance. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Donald Lievense.
He is survived by his parents, Anne Drozdowicz and Dave Boes of Douglas and Bob Lievense of Holland; twin brother Ethan Lievense of Douglas; stepsister, Allie Boes-Asuncion and Jason Asuncion of San Diego, Calif.; stepbrother Nate Boes of Portland, Ore.; grandmother LaVerne Lievense; step-grandparents, Dale and Elaine Boes of Holland; aunts and uncles, James Lievense, Bill and Jane Lievense, Maria Droz and Chuck Gustafson and Margaret Balmer; cousins, Matt Balmer, Molly Howell, Andrew Lievense, Betsy Atkins and Laura Williams.
A funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m., at the Community Church of Douglas, 6874 Wiley Road, Douglas, MI 49406. Rev. Kama Jongerius-Zuidema will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Dykstra Funeral Home–Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd St., in Holland, and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to “Mason’s Meals” through Saugatuck Public Schools.
