Dorothy V. Miller. 93, of Allegan passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at Briarwood of Allegan.
Dorothy was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Allegan, to the late William and Nona (Whitacer) Miller. Dorothy was united in marriage to Don Miller on May 17, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1990.
She is survived by her four children, Lon (Penny) Miller, Nancy Miller, Jane (Barry) Harris, Judy (Mike) Atherton; a special nephew, Don (Luann) Brown; six grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Harris, Tonya (Ben) Finch, Mike Atherton, Kara (Chris) Caldwell, Hailey Miller and Tanner Miller; five great-grandchildren, Brody (Becca) Harris, Marty Harris, Gage Finch, Miller Finch and Beau Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah; sisters, Virginia Brown and Donna Funk; and brothers, Jack and William Miller.
In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes there will be a graveside service Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. at Lindsley Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Holland Hospice and the staff at Briarwood for their fine and generous care. She will be loved and missed forever by those who knew her. She was a very kind and caring person and she treated everyone with dignity.
She and Don enjoyed vacationing in Florida, going on cruises, Sunday drives, Tiger Baseball, trips to Canada and fishing on Lake Michigan.
Later in life, Dorothy loved bowling, playing bingo and attending Brody and Marty’s college baseball and softball games.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Holland or to the charity of your choice.
