Patricia Ann (Taggart) Knowlton, 83

Patricia Ann (Taggart) Knowlton, 83 of Watson Township, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Wings Home in Allegan.

Mrs. Knowlton was born March 1, 1935, in Allegan, the daughter of the late Gerald and Margaret (Muddget) Taggart. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Knowlton who preceded her in death in 2005 after 51 years of marriage. 

Pat was a long-time employee of Allegan General Hospital as a dietitian and went on to work at Orlo’s Deli until her retirement at the age of 70. In her spare time she enjoyed woodworking, crafts, sewing, crocheting and reading. Pat was known for her strong-will and kept her determined spirit right up until her passing. 

She is survived by her children, Bob (Norma) Knowlton of Hopkins and Patti (Steve) Counterman of Watson Township; her siblings, Mettie Councell of Twenty-nine Palms, Calif., and Gerald (Felie) Taggart of San Diego, Calif.; sister-in-law Mary Stacy; eight grandchildren, Michael (Hilary), Stacy (Justin), Chad, Travis, Margaret, Wendy (Joe), Benjie and Jeremy (Tiffany); four great-grandchildren, Tiana, Noah, Tayton and Brycn; and many nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her daughter Lucinda “Cindy” Knowlton; her sister Violet Smith; and her brother-in-law Harry Councell.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, May 10, at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at which time the funeral service will take place with Pastor Steven Smail officiating. 

Memorial donations may be made in Patricia’s name to Wings Home, 530 Linn St., Allegan, MI 49010. Interment will be in Lindsley Cemetery, Cheshire Township. Assisting the family with arrangements is Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com.
