Mary E. Curtiss, 75, of Otsego passed away Sunday, Oct.15, 2017, at Borgess Medical Center. The oldest of 11 children, she was born June 1, 1942, in Lobelville, Tenn., to Ernest “Paul” and Alma (Sisk) Mannon.
Mary had worked at Parker Hannifin for more than 25 years. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and going to Gun Lake Casino and playing the slot machines and was always willing to share her winnings.
Mary could never pass up a bargain and liked going to flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores looking for the best deal. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays especially Christmas. Mary collected Disney, M&M and Coca Cola memorabilia along with snowbabies and country music records.
Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
On Sept. 28, 1963, at Otsego United Methodist Church, she married Leonard Curtiss who survives. Also surviving are her sons, Randy (Carrie) Curtiss, Rick (Teressa) Curtiss, Cary (Nickie) Curtiss and Gary (Susie) Curtiss; grandchildren, Tyler (Rashelle), Jon (Chelsea), Haylie, Hanna, Holly, Devon and Jarred “turkey butt;” three sisters, Deb, Dovie and Paula; and four brothers, Roy, Mike, Henry and Gary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, George, Jim and Jack.
Friends may visit with Mary’s family from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19, at Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 20, with Celebrant Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery, Otsego Township.
