Lois Lugten, 91

Lois Lugten, 91, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at her home.
Loie worked at Hamilton Farm Bureau for many years and was a member of Haven Reformed Church where she loved singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed playing the piano at many area nursing homes and was an encourager who could always find the good in any situation.
Loie was preceded in death by her siblings, Beatrice (Allen) Calahan, Gilbert (Harriet) Lugten, Howard Lugten, Melvin (Esther) Lugten, Lawrence (Beth) Lugten; and nephews, Tom Lugten and Dale Lugten.
Loie is survived by her sister-in-law Frieda Lugten of Hamilton; nieces and nephews, Michael Calahan, David (Ruth) Lugten, Betty Lugten, Jerry (Fern Griesbach) Lugten, Ellen (Lloyd) Kaper, Kathy (Dick) Schipper, Lyle Lugten, John (Tamara) Lugten, Lisa (Blaine) Ver Hage, Bill (Cathy) Lugten; special friend Kim Ter Beek; many great- and great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services are planned for noon Friday, March 24, at Haven Reformed Church, 4691 Oak St., Hamilton. Rev. Ronald Ver Wys will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 3616 M-40, Hamilton.
