Daniel Ward Bridgeman, 72, of Allegan, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at Borgess Medical Center. Born Nov. 30, 1944, in Allegan, he was the son of the late Hugh and Virginia E. Mahan Bridgeman and was the husband of Margaret Smith Bridgeman.
Mr. Bridgeman was a 1963 graduate of Allegan High School and earned both his bachelor's degree and his MBA from Western Michigan University. Throughout his college years he held many jobs, including working in a factory, deputy sheriff and graduate assistant to a math professor. Later, Mr. Bridgeman worked for Consumer's Power in charge of the computer center, then as assistant to the Chief Financial Officer, then eventually started his own software development company.
In his spare time he enjoyed sailing. He had a passion for restoring boats and had recently been working on his largest project ever. Mr. Bridgeman's love for sailing and racing allowed him to join many different yacht clubs over the years and connect with many friends with similar interests.
He also rarely missed an opportunity to meet with his friends at his Monday and Thursday coffee groups. Above all else; however, Mr. Bridgeman's greatest joy was spending time with his wife and stepdaughter.
In addition to his wife of 23 years, he is survived by his stepdaughter Kylin Cronkhite; his sister, Mary (Walter) Frank; niece, Erin Frank (Bryson) Davis; nephew Adam Frank; great-nephew Cole Davis; and many cousins.
