Neil E. Marshall, 95, of Otsego Township, Allegan County.
When our Dad, Neil Marshall, went to bed Dec. 11, 2016, he woke up looking upon the face of Jesus. He was a sacrificial Christian man who was active in his faith telling others about Jesus his Savior.
He was also happy to serve others by using his God-given skills of being able to repair or build almost anything. He spent more than 30 years at Com-Pac-It in Allegan; 25 years working as the caretaker for Camp Kaskitowa; and then spent several more years working out of his home repairing small engines.
Neil was one of the original members of the Casco Township Band, playing his trumpet alongside his father for more than 10 years. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a loving, quiet and wise man who deeply loved his family.
Neil was born May 17, 1921, in Casco Township, and is survived by his four children, Christine (Richard) Ballast, Green Bay, Lois (Harry) Nielsen, Joyce (Richard) Smith, Otsego, Amy and (Mike) Staton; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace (Sperry); two brothers, Richard and Mack; and wife Shirley (Townsend) in 2008.
Memorial services will Saturday, Dec.17, at 12 p.m. at Merson Church, Pastor Alan Carson officiating. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Neil's memory to Camp Kaskitowa, 3799 108th Ave., Allegan, MI 49010 (www.campk.net) or the Merson Church, 3313 102nd Ave., Gobles, MI 49055.
