Roger David Knobloch, 86, formerly of Allegan, died at his home in Lakeview on Jan. 21, 2017.
A United States Navy veteran, he was employed at Rockwell International for more than 30 years.
His parents were Eldon and Hilda Knobloch of Otsego. They preceded him in death.  He was also preceded in death by his late wife Norma; his son Paul Knobloch; and step-son Mikeljon Gillies.
He is survived by step-daughter Susan (Ken) Harrington; step-sons, Martin (Lori) Gillies and Anthony Gillies; step-daughter Sharon Hunter; daughters, Carol (Mark) Johns and Gail (Albert) Lynch; step-son, David (Melissa) Gillies; step-daughter, Diane (Roger) Clark; step-son Wilfred (Sandy) Pugh; step-daughter Norma (Jim) Leslie; daughter Kathryn (Craig) Pomeroy; along with a great many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial event will be planned in Lakeview at a later date.

Lois Lugten, 91, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at her home.
Loie worked at Hamilton Farm Bureau for many years and was a member of Haven Reformed Church where she loved singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed playing the piano at many area nursing homes and was an encourager who could always find the good in any situation.
Loie was preceded in death by her siblings, Beatrice (Allen) Calahan, Gilbert (Harriet) Lugten, Howard Lugten, Melvin (Esther) Lugten, Lawrence (Beth) Lugten; and nephews, Tom Lugten and Dale Lugten.
Loie is survived by her sister-in-law Frieda Lugten of Hamilton; nieces and nephews, Michael Calahan, David (Ruth) Lugten, Betty Lugten, Jerry (Fern Griesbach) Lugten, Ellen (Lloyd) Kaper, Kathy (Dick) Schipper, Lyle Lugten, John (Tamara) Lugten, Lisa (Blaine) Ver Hage, Bill (Cathy) Lugten; special friend Kim Ter Beek; many great- and great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services are planned for noon Friday, March 24, at Haven Reformed Church, 4691 Oak St., Hamilton. Rev. Ronald Ver Wys will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 3616 M-40, Hamilton.

Vickie Hofacker, 61, of Pullman passed away on March 15, 2017, at Wings Home in Allegan, with family by her side.
Vickie was born on July 8, 1955, in Allegan, daughter of Arnold "Hootch" and Marian (Porter) Jones.  
Vickie was raised in the Otsego area and married Mark Hofacker of Plainwell on July 27, 1996. She spent her days as a shift manager for Wendy's. She loved taking care of her customers. Her passion was her concession stand (Vic's Intersection) at Dutch Sport Park in Bloomingdale, where Miss Vickie loved serving hot coffee, Icee popsicles and candy!
Vickie enjoyed spending time with her husband while riding their Harley. She also loved spending quality time around family, raising her dogs, camping and bonfires.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Arnold "Hootch" and her brother, David Jones.
She is survived by her mother Marian Jones; her husband Mark Hofacker; her children, Michelle (Josh) Bowers, Melisse Hughes (Mark), Michael (Trina) Hughes, Matthew Hofacker (Katie) and Ruthann Bennett (JT); 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Bob (Terri) Jones, Robin (Ken) Davis, Arnold (Nora) Jones, Bruce (Ruthann) Jones and Diane (Danny) Conner; and all their families.
Vickie was a very generous, kind and loving person, always putting others before herself. She could put a smile on anyone's face and could make a friend with a perfect stranger. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Aileene M. Robinson, 75, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at her home.
A memorial service will be Saturday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Interment will be at Lockwood Cemetery.

Aileene was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Battle Creek to Stanley and Alice (Johnson) Jones. She married Jack L. Robinson on Aug. 27, 1965, in Allegan.
Mrs. Robinson was an office manager at Panel Processing in Coldwater, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of Lockwood Community Church and enjoyed volunteering at Beginnings Care for Life.  
Elly was an avid bowler and pool player, spending many years playing on leagues. She was very creative and artistic and spent much time making arts and crafts and crocheting.
Aileene is survived by her husband Jack; her sons, Jerrod (Julia) Robinson of Lansing and Daniel Robinson and Francis Robinson, both of Coldwater; her siblings, Maxine (David) Williams of Auburn, Ind., Geraldine (Dick) Pickard of Portage, Dan (Lura) Jones of Constantine and Nel Wright of Allegan; and her grandchildren, Jade (Jonathan), Abby, Jerrod Jr. and Destiny.

Lois Sylvia Ellinger, 101, of Monterey Center, passed away March 20, 2017, at her home in Grand Rapids.
Born June 18, 1915, Lois saw everything from the horse drawn carriage to the age of the Internet. She was a farmer, a teacher and a horticulturist.
Lois loved her family, her Koi pond, and birds (especially hummingbirds).
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Milton Ellinger; her parents William and Sylvia Commans; her sister Wilma Commans; sister and brother-in-law Russell and Neva Coffey; son-in-law James Oliver; and granddaughter Tina Oliver.
She is survived by her son Dean Ellinger (Susan), her daughter Sharon Oliver; grandchildren, Lisa Hendricks (Mark), Stephanie Fast (Brandon), Nicholas Ellinger (LaToya), Judy Fratwell (Brian) and Kathy Oliver; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tobey, Elliott, Riyonna, Nick, Angelina, Christina, Kirsty and Jim.
A celebration of life will be on Wednesday, March 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. (with a special tribute at 2:30 p.m.) at Holland Home Fulton Manor, 1450 E. Fulton, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

Harold C. Silverman, 100, was born on Aug. 8, 1916, and peacefully passed on March 3, 2017.
Originally from Allegan, Harold was a veteran who served in Germany during World War II. He spent the majority of his adult life in Skokie, Ill.
Devoted husband to Belle Silverman, Harold is the last of eight siblings.
He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Larry James McKeown, 65

Larry James McKeown, 65, of Allegan passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. Born March 19, 1952, in Allegan, he was the son of George Bush, the late Donna Emogene Bush, and the late Harry James McKeown.  
Larry was a graduate of Allegan High School and a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a music lover and had played guitar and bass in his band "Northern Exposure."
In addition to his dad, Larry is survived by his son Eric Zay; three grandchildren; brothers, George F. Bush Jr., Jonathan Frederick Bush, Harry James "Jimmy" McKeown Jr. and Steven McKeown; sister Lori Knikelbine; niece Amber Knikelbine; and four aunts.  
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew Joshua and his half-sister Carla.
In accordance with his wishes, services will be private.

Beatrice Krotz, 92, of Allegan passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at her home.  Born March 3, 1925, in Allegan, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Helen Breski Krotz.
Ms. Krotz is survived by her sister-in-law Geraldine Krotz and several nieces and nephews and their families.  
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur, Fred, LeRoy, Robert and James; and her sister Eleanor.
The family receivec friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Saturday, March 25, where funeral service were held.  Burial followed at Hudson Corners Cemetery.

Lenny J. Lenard, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 20, 2017.
Lenny was born on Nov. 22, 1962, in Grand Rapids, the son of Leland and Mary Lou (Eager) Lenard.
Lenny will always be remembered by his mother Mary Lou Lenard; long-time girlfriend Tammy Maat; his children, Lenny Joe (Heather) Lenard, Stephanie Lenard and Benjamin (Emily Sexton) Lenard; grandchildren, Madison, Layton, Shawn, Ellie, Bryce, Cameron and Mason; his siblings, Renee (Larry) Wilson, Lorrie (Rick) Jones and Lisa (Wade) Weber; along with several nieces, nephews and extended relatives.
Lenny was preceded in death by his father Leland in 2016, and his brother Richard.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Church, 2459 146th Ave., Dorr. Interment will be at St. Mary's Visitation Cemetery.
Lenny's family will meet with friends and relatives on Sunday, March 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 5:30 p.m., at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th St., Dorr, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Fae Ann Wightman, 73

Fae Ann Wightman, 73, of Fennville passed away, March 27, 2017, at Holland Hospital.  She was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Zeeland, the daughter of Andrew and Janet (Wiersma) Christensen.  
Fae married her husband of 54 years, Phil Wightman on Jan 18, 1963. She was a homemaker and school supporter while raising her children and later worked at the Surrey and aboard the Star of Saugatuck.
She was a member of Women Who Care, Camp Fire leader and a charter member of the Douglas Community Church. Fae was also active in many groups and charities in Fennville, Saugatuck, and Douglas.  
Cherishing memories of her are her husband Phil Wightman; daughters, Rondi Wightman and Greg Stinson of Porter, Ind., Jodi and Loren Curtis of Bay City and Wendi Wightman and Brian Newton of Buffalo, N.Y.; granddaughter Sierra Newton of Pepin, Wis.; sisters; Carole Schreckengust, Jan and Rick VanKley and Cindi and Glenn Nykamp; sisters-in law, Diane Christensen, Carolyn Gilman and Doris and George Peltier; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Fae's life will be Saturday, April 8, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Laketown Golf & Conference Center, Saugatuck.

Reva C. Garlock, 98

Reva C. Garlock was called home by her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 30, 2017 after living almost 99 years here on earth.

She was born April 23, 1918, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Ora and Alice (Ketchum) Porter. She married her true love, Colburn, and together they raised four children. While raising her family, she also worked at Allegan General Hospital for over 36 years.  She was a kind, caring and genuine woman that was truly devoted to her God and her family. 

Reva is survived by her children: Rojean Garlock, Linda and Michael Edgar, Thomas and Cheryl Garlock, Frank and Jackie Garlock; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Doris Porter.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Colburn; one daughter-in-law, Kay Garlock; two brothers, Leonard and Robert Porter; and one sister, Alice Cronberg.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday, April 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, Thomas Garlock officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Reva’s name to the First Baptist Church Missionary Board (1290 32nd St., Allegan, MI 49010).

Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery. The Gorden Funeral Residence (www.gordenfuneral.com) assisted the family with arrangements.

Nancy L. Locatis, 79

Nancy L. Locatis, 79, of Allegan passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo.
Mrs. Locatis was born April 1, 1937, in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of the late Willie Earl and Shirley (Burke) Conley. After receiving her associate's degree, she worked as a legal secretary for more than 29 years.  
On Oct. 27, 1962, Nancy married her true love, Thomas, and together went on to raise four boys. She was the co-founder of the Allegan County Snowmobile Club. Two of her favorite hobbies were bowling and painting.  
What truly brought joy to her life though, were her grandchildren. She absolutely loved them and being a part of their lives. Her presence will be truly missed.
Nancy is survived by her children, Tim and Kathy, Todd and Sammy, Roderic and Marcy, Rick and Christy; six grandchildren, Megan, Franklin, Ellie, Zoie, Anthony and Logan; her sister Helen Setter; and her two brothers, Jim and Bob Conley.   
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and two sisters, Billie Jensen and Ann Wright.
A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be Saturday, May 6, at 3 p.m. at the Allegan County Snowmobile Club, 1697 36th St., Allegan, MI 49010. Please note that the Snowmobile Club is opening specifically for this occasion and does not have regular business hours, so any deliveries would have to be coordinated through a family member.

Marlin Fry, 79, of Allegan passed away in the comfort of his home on March 22, 2017.
Marlin was born Nov. 2, 1937, in the home of his beloved grandmother Maggie in rural Pennsylvania.
Marlin was a friend to all. He was tenderly cared for by his wife Zea, his good friend Daniel, his loving daughters Patti and Sue, and the wonderful team of Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan.
He is survived by his mother Ruth; his sisters, Ruby and Shirley; his daughters, Patti and Sue; and his sons Mike and Steve. Many happy memories are held by grandchildren and great-grandchildren for their Grampy.
He was preceded in death by his father George; son Lenny; brothers, David and George; and niece Becky.
A memorial will be at a later date at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Allegan.

Jack E. Webber, 87

Jack E. Webber, 87, of Allegan, lived Nov. 10, 1929, to April 1, 2017.  
The son of J. Ernie and Hazel (Sprague) Webber was born in Grand Rapids and moved several times throughout his childhood.
Jack graduated from Toledo, Ohio, where he married his high school sweetheart Jacquelyn (Brenneman), who proceeded him in death. Jack and Jackie settled in Allegan, and he ran Webber Motor Sales for more than 30 years.  
The couple were lifelong members of the United Methodist Church.  Jack was an avid gardener and enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including fishing, hunting, and collecting seashells on the Florida shoreline.  
Jack was an amazing craftsman and created intricate intarsia woodscapes.  Jack had twinkling blue eyes and a quick wit.  If you knew him, you most likely shared a laugh with him.  
Jack is survived by his five children, Jody (Jim) Jackson of Allegan, Jennifer Kirchner of California, John (Diane) Webber of Plainwell, Jeana Aiken of Traverse City and Jay (Christa) Webber of Mattawan; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister Mable Collins of Birmingham; and brother/sister-in-laws Warren Alkire of Texas, Norma Brenneman of Ohio and Jeff Brenneman of Ohio.  
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at Allegan United Methodist Church in Allegan.
In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to Wings of Hope Hospice.

Donna Jean Lautz Herwarth, 67

Donna Jean Lautz Herwarth, 67, of Shelbyville passed away on Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2017, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on May 14, 1949, in Rochester, N.Y., to the late Herbert Arthur and Phyllis Jean (neé Dibble) Lautz. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in social work and had recently retired from a career as a judicial secretary/court recorder for the State of Michigan's 57th District Court in Allegan.
Donna is survived by her two daughters, Megan Brown and Kristi Herwarth; one grandchild, Brianna Brown; her sister, brothers, and sisters-in-law, Richard and Lucinda Lautz, Chris Lautz, David and Lisa Lautz, and Steven and Maureen Lautz; and numerous beloved step-children, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl Julius Herwarth; and her nephew Steven Michael Herwarth.
The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence in Allegan on Friday, April 7, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., including a celebration of life ceremony starting at 6 p.m.  During the celebration of life ceremony, family and friends will be welcome to share any story or memory that they would like. A second public celebration of life ceremony will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel in Battle Creek, followed immediately by interment.

James "Rosie" Val Rosenbaum 87

James "Rosie" Val Rosenbaum 87, of Douglas and Holmes Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully in a place he loved, Anna Maria Island, Fla., on March 31, 2017.  
Rosie was born June 26, 1929, the only son of Walter and Hannah (Friedman) Rosenbaum in Kalamazoo. He graduated from Morgan Park Military Academy (high school) in 1947.  
Rosie served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force from 1948-1951 during the Korean War. On Sept. 27, 1952, he married Alice Mae Christiansen (Christie) of Menominee. She preceded him in death on July 23, 1996.
Rosie is survived by his three daughters, Jill (Rusty) Segal, Joanie (Tim) Opie and Julie (Sprig) Shauman; seven grandchildren, Stuart (Antú), Jeffrey (Kayleigh) and Andrew Segal,  Sara (Alex) Whittlesey,  and Tim Opie, Jr. and Corey and Casey Shauman; and one great-grandchild Anders James Whittlesey. He is also survived by his sister Judith Hirsh; a sister-in-law Joanne Craig; and his companion of 16 years, Susan Horne.
Rosie was employed by the family business, The Kalamazoo Pant Company (Redwood and Ross) from 1952-1978.  He continued his career in the men's clothing industry with Pincus Brothers (Bill Blass) until his retirement in 1989.  He was always highly regarded as being a sharp dresser with model good looks.
Among his many accomplishments were serving on the boards of Kalamazoo YMCA, Upjohn Nursing Home, Allegan County Cancer Society and Glenn Community Center. He was a proud member of The Beacon Club, Saugatuck Yacht Club and Cowhill Yacht Club.
Rosie had a knack for making lifelong friends everywhere he went.  He will be remembered for his contagious smile, his charm, his love of the beach, cars, a good drink, card games and above all, the love he had of his family.
A private burial will be in Mt. Home Cemetery in Kalamazoo, immediately followed by a memorial service. A service to celebrate Rosie's life will be at 12 noon on Saturday, April 8, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St., Kalamazoo, with Pastor James Dyke officiating. A time of food and fellowship will immediately follow the service in the Langeland Reception Center.

Douglas Roblyer, 75, of Allegan, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, in Grand Rapids.  
Doug was born Aug. 31, 1941, in Allegan, son of Leon and Verna (Rheynard) Roblyer.  He graduated from Otsego High School in 1960. Doug retired from Perrigo in Allegan after 25 years of service.  
On Sept. 9, 2005, he married Irene Morgan in Allegan. Doug enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and tending to the flower gardens with Irene. His feelings about cats changed over the years and three of his best buddies, Missy, Kid and Sam, were his favorite felines.
Survivors include his wife Irene; children, Brian (Dawn) Roblyer of Plainwell, Julie (Tom) Moore of Plainwell and Cyndi (Bruce) Zimmerman of Otsego and their mother Sandra Roblyer of Mattawan; step-children, James (Bert) Harris of Allegan and Richard (Pam) Harris of Mansfield, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister Sally (Steve) Carpenter of Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Visitation will be Friday, April 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Winkel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, at Hillside Cemetery, Gun Plain Township. Pastor Kari Fast of Hope Lutheran Church of Plainwell is officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 W. Darla Jean Gavrun, 58, of Allegan passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Darla was born March 13, 1959, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Gale and Donna Kay and had lived in the area the past 25 years.
Darla loved animals, antiquing, gardening and especially spending time with her family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 20 years, Peter; five children, Kristina (Tony) Stevens, Richard Adams, Peter (Scott) Szurek-Gavrun, James (Melissa) Adams and Adam (Erin) Gavrun; 14 grandchildren; her mother, Donna (Charlie) Burnside; siblings, Rickey, Michael, Terry, Rhonda, Jeana, Jill, Jamie and Jackie.
She was preceded in death by her father Gale Vernon Kay; a brother Donald Wayne Kay; a sister Jodie; a nephew Erick Kay; and a cousin Johnny Saurbry.
The family will meet friends on Saturday, April 8, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com. Interment will follow in Mallory Cemetery.

Aaron M. Elliston, 27, passed away April 3, 2017. He was born July 20, 1989, in Allegan.
Aaron was a lifelong Allegan resident, briefly residing in Byron Center. He attended school in Allegan and was a mechanic by trade. He was loved and cherished by family and friends, and was always there to help when needed. He will be greatly missed by all.
Aaron is survived by his fiancée Samantha Baron of Bryon Center; his parents, Ron and Kendra Elliston; brother Brandon Elliston (Brittany); sister Kyra Hickman; grandparents, David and Pat Blowers of Allegan, Ron and Sandy Snyder of Dorr and Roger Kaylor of Plainwell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and according to his wishes no services will be held.
A family memorial will follow at a later date.

Robert Sylvester 'Moe' Milbocker, 81

Robert Sylvester "Moe" Milbocker was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Otsego County.
Moe passed on April 8, 2017. He was the son of the late Sylvester and Margaret (Pack) Milbocker; husband of Jean Ann (Hale) Milbocker for 56 wonderful years; brother of Buster and Vera Milbocker, Julie Milbocker and Wayne Burton, Gene and Shirley Milbocker, Mike and Onalee Milbocker, the late Jim Milbocker and the late David Milbocker; brother-in-law to Kathy and Richard Caine, Darlene Milbocker, and the late Colleen Milbocker; father of Debra and Ian Thorburn, Teresa and Scott Southwick, and Patrick and Kim Milbocker; grandfather to Bryce, Maeve and Madelaine Thorburn, Autumn (David) VanLiere, Brooke Southwick, Forrest (Brittany) Southwick, Dakota Milbocker and four great-grandchildren; an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; and a friend to many who will miss him dearly.
He served in the United States Army. Moe had a lifelong career in road and bridge construction as a partner in Milbocker and Sons, Inc. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324 and the Michigan Road Builders Association.
Moe was involved in the development and ownership of the Lynx golf course and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and adventure with friends and family. Travels took him to many interesting places, including Alaska and Africa and everywhere in between, including 12 years in Alabama's Gulf Shores where Jean and Moe hosted friends and relatives.
Moe supported many wildlife and conservation associations and philanthropic causes over the years. He was a founding member of Wings Home, Allegan, for the last nine years, finding that especially rewarding and an important community resource.  
Moe continued to live an active life throughout his retirement years with passion, love and energy. We already miss him greatly as we still find a way to smile when thinking about him. He cared about what he did, how he did it, and how it might help the people around him.  Hats off to Moe as we celebrate this man and carry on his lessons.
