Anna L. Irons, 100

Anna L. Irons, 100, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Gobles, passed away Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Rose Arbor in Kalamazoo. Anna was born Sept. 20, 1916, in Wheaton, Ill., to Alfred and Louise Kaats and had resided in the Gobles area for 90 years.  
Anna graduated from Gobles High School and Maher's Business College. On Feb. 1, 1941, she married Freeman Irons.
Anna enjoyed gardening, camping and reading. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose family truly meant everything to her. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their many sporting events.
Surviving are her three children, William (Linda Greene) Irons, Judy (Larry) Raab and Jill (Bill) Nash; grandchildren, Wendy (Eric) Blanton, David (Tara) Wheeler, Robert Irons, Kevin (Katie Melvin) Wheeler and Amy (Scott) Meert; great-grandchildren, Alex Blanton, Victoria Blanton, Kami (Jake) Davison, Kendra Wheeler, Abigail Wheeler, Jennifer Wheeler, Autumn Wheeler, Christianna Trutsch, Alyssa Trutsch, Jebediah Meert; great-great-grandchildren, Addyson, Kylian and Delaney Davison.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter Tammy Irons; siblings Alfred Kaats Jr. and Josephine Eastman Lukins.  
The family will meet friends on Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home (www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com), where funeral services will be on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Robinson Cemetery.
