Lila Lemley, 83, passed away June 8, 2020, at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.
She was born in 1936, the daughter of Leon and Lucille (Brower) Ingalsbee.
Lila was a 1954 graduate of Allegan High School. She was married to Fred Lemley for 46 years until his death in 2000. Fred and Lila had four children: Jeff and his wife Sally and their children Mallory Harper and grandson (Blake) and Elliot Lemley; Craig and Ana and their children Alexandra and Victoria Lemley; Jan Myers and her children Sarah (Kory) Heerspink, and Andrew Myers; and Curt (deceased) and Julie Lemley.
Lila is also survived by her brother Vern and his wife Beverly and her sister-in-law Shirley Wassink and her husband Stewart.
As a stay-at-home mom, Lila’s children thrived under her guidance and love. While raising four children, Lila played organ at The Methodist Church in Allegan as well as giving piano lessons from her home for many years. Lila later joined the workforce and became an administrative assistant at Haworth in Holland, where she worked until retiring in 1999.
Her love of reading and books led her to Barnes & Noble in Holland, where she worked part-time for many more years. Lila was also a volunteer at the Holland Public Library.
Lila loved her family and enjoyed many celebrations of life with them. Christmases with all her family highlighted the years.
Lila has been cremated with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Donations can be made in her honor at The American Heart Association or The Arthritis Foundation.
