Linda Kay Thompson, 65, of Hamilton passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Born Sept. 29, 1954, in Allegan, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Violet Marie (Brenner) Truax Jr. and was the wife of Kenneth Thompson.
Linda was an avid gardener who also loved crafting of any kind. She also liked to go mushroom hunting every year. Linda was a fan of horse racing, though mostly because she enjoyed throwing derby parties. She was a huge fan of Wizard of Oz and had amassed quite a collection of memorabilia over the years. Linda always looked out for the needs of others before she took care of herself. Her kindness and generosity were felt by many, but especially by her children and grandchildren. She was a supportive and loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Linda is survived by her children, Barry (Mindi) Thompson and Kristy Burch; her brother, Ron (Cindy) Truax; grandchildren, Duane M. Thompson, Terrance Hightower and Brody Nyhoff; nephew, Little Ronnie and Tara Truax; several stepbrothers and stepsisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Corey Thompson; her brother, Duane Wiley; her niece, Kelli Blackman; and her fur baby, Missy Puppy.
The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, on Tuesday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. The funeral service will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Salem Township Cemetery.
