Pearletta (Dunifin) Hodge, 80, of Allegan, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020, at Ascension Allegan General Hospital.
Born July 2, 1939, in Gobles, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Dorothy (Skillman) Dunifin and the wife of Gerald Hodge.
Pearletta spent 25 years as the lunchroom supervisor at West Ward Elementary School in Allegan. She was a very active lady and loved going to garage sales and the Gun Lake Casino. In her other spare time you would find her crocheting beautiful blankets and other things to keep and give away. Pearletta had a kind heart and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her much joy.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 57 years, Gerald; her daughter, Diana (Steve) McDaniel; her brother, Wayne (Karon) Dunifin; four grandchildren, Rachel McDaniel, Sarah McDaniel, Jason (Allie) McDaniel and Samantha Bowers; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Bowers and Riley Bowers.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald M. Hodge II; and her brother, Clarence “Duffy” (Wanda) Dunifin.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Pastor Barb Wine officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Pearletta’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105). Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
