Milton K. (Red) Strand passed away on May 10, 2020, in Princess Anne, Md.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1932, in Kalamazoo, the son of Carl and Mildred Strand.
He was a 1950 graduate of Allegan High School, received an associate degree in agriculture from Michigan State University and managed several grain elevators around Michigan before returning to live in Allegan County.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He loved to spend time in his cabin near Mesick and deer hunting with his friends. He was a Mason for 63 years and was Past Master of Allegan Masonic Lodge 111.
In 1955, he married Frances Wightman who predeceased him in 2016.
He is survived by his son Brad (Joy) Strand of Maryland, daughter-in-law Marve Strand, and granddaughter MJ of North Dakota; brother Fred (Bonnie) Strand; sister Joyce (George) Galloway; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, son Mark, grandson Travis Strand, three sisters and one brother.
Milton was a quiet man who was very courageous.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service is planned at this time.
