Letha Mae Krcatovich, 89

Letha Mae Krcatovich, 89, of Allegan passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at Wings Home with her family at her side.

Born Dec. 9, 1930, in Logan, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Golda “Marie” (Pargeon) Sanders.

Letha graduated from Allegan High School as a member of the class of 1948. She married Michael Krcatovich in 1954 and they shared 64 years together prior to his death in 2018.

In addition to helping on the family farm, Letha worked at Hopkins High School for over 20 years. 

She was a dedicated, longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she was the organist for almost 50 years, a member of the Catholic Council of Women and the St. Vincent de Paul Society/Good Samaritan.

Letha was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying all sports, but particularly baseball. She was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions and Pistons.

She was a talented musician playing for numerous Masses, weddings, and funerals. She loved singing the Star Spangled Banner before high school basketball games and happy birthday to the members of her senior bowling league.

In addition to her husband and parents, Letha was preceded in death by her siblings, Jeanette (Stanley) Peterson, Eileen “June” (Robert) Graves, Kathryn (Arthur) Traxler, Robert (Sherry) Sanders, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Sanders.

Letha is survived by her children, Mike (Joanne) Krcatovich, Linnette (Tim) Krcatovich, Janet (Scott) Storey, Linda Krcatovich, Lisa (Kevin) Sheaffer, Tony Krcatovich and Matt (Mindy) Krcatovich; one brother, Raymond “Sonny” Sanders; 16 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; 11 step great grandchildren; and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Simon Manjooran, Celebrant.
