Mildred Harriet Durham, 90, peacefully joined our Lord on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at Allegan County Medical Care Community. She was born June 23, 1929, in Chicago to the late Louis and Elizabeth (Kistel) Kuhny.
Mildred worked for the Fruit Exchange and Canning Factory in Fennville and also at Delano Printing Service. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and spent as much time as she could with her family. She was a hard worker both on the job and at home. She always wanted to provide the best for her family, and she did a wonderful job. The love she had for them was always felt by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Lincoln Durham. They loved each other in marriage for 49 years until his death on Nov. 15, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Sweet and Florence Pletz; her brother, Wesley Kuhny; and son-in-law, Loren Vanderhyde.
She is survived by her five children, Linda (Loren) Vanderhyde of Hastings, Raymond (Kathy) Durham of Gobles, Danny (Mary) Durham of Allegan, Tina (Ricardo) Bazan of Otsego and Harriet (Daniel) Haarman of Alpine, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
Friends met with the family Monday, Oct. 7, at the Gorden Funeral Residence in Allegan where Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m., Pastor Paul Hays, from the Assembly of God Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at Hudson Corners Cemetery. Following the service, a Celebration of Life luncheon will be at the Multipurpose Activity Center, 728 River St. in Allegan.
