Marilyn Jayne Allen, 74

Marilyn Jayne Allen, 74, of Hamilton passed away Monday, June 17, 2019, at Wings Home in Allegan.

Born Nov. 10, 1944, in Holland, she was the daughter of the late Owen John and Norma Esther (Phillips) Wakeman. She married Doulas Wesley Allen on April 15, 1966.  Marilyn had a passion for serving people through ministry. She was dedicated to raising her family, serving in her church, and missions. She was a teacher, dorm parent, secretary and principal for many years at Bethany Christian Mission Center in Kentucky. She also served at Middleman Ministries with her husband Doug for many years in various capacities. 

She was a life time member and active participant of Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church. She centered her life around a relationship with Jesus Christ and she was a shining example of His love. 

Marilyn had worked as a teacher’s aide for Hamilton High School prior to retirement.

In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by her children, Mary Jayne (Greg Malone) Allen, Max O. (Marybeth) Allen and Brad Allen; a sister, Carol (David) Cross; and six grandchildren, Isaac, Olivia, Rebecca, Rachel, Emilee and Jessica Allen.

The family will receive friends at Diamond Springs Wesleyan Church on Monday, June 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, June 25, at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Mark Inman officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Hill Cemetery.

Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
