Gertrude Annabelle Walker, 91, of Crossroads, Texas, passed away at her home Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
Gertrude was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Allegan, to Frank and Margaret (Rixson) Schneider. She married Jimmy Benton Walker on July 25, 1970, in Allegan.
Gertrude is survived by her daughter Sandra DeVault, of Little Elm, Texas; son Jim Julian of Pullman; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother Elbert Schneider of Virginia; four sisters, Elaine, Ruth Ann, and Betty Jean Schneider and Lorna Russell, all of Allegan.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret; husband Jimmy; daughter Norma Jean Freeman; and five brothers, Bill Snyder, Bob, Henry, Frank and George Schneider.
A funeral service was Friday, March 29, at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, Texas with Randolph Chappel officiating.
On Tuesday, April 2, a visitation will be at Gorden Funeral Residence in Allegan from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Poplar Hill Cemetery in Allegan.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gertrude’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, act.alz.org.
