Charmain Lynn Gomber, 66, of Allegan passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at her home with her family at her side.
Born Oct. 5, 1952, in Wyandotte, she was the daughter of Quincy McCallister Dunlap and the late Lucille May (Slack) Dunlap and was the wife of Rex Lee Gomber for more than 48 years.
Mrs. Gomber had worked for many years in retail sales, most recently as a manager at Family Dollar. She was the past secretary of the Allegan Rod and Gun Club.
In her spare time she loved playing cards, dancing, working on her computer and traveling with the girls.
Mrs. Gomber also looked forward to spending quality time with Paco, her faithful canine companion, every day. More than anything else, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and nana.
In addition to her husband Rex and father Quincy, Mrs. Gomber is survived by her stepmother Lavina Dunlap; three children, Yolanda R. (Frank) Key, Shawn L. Gomber and grandpup, Red, and Holly E. (Tyler, Sr.) Harrell; a sister, Dawn VanDenboss; five grandchildren, Gage (Sheinah) Key, Alli Key, Tyler Harrell Jr., Tayshawn Harrell and Tyriq Harrell; a great-granddaughter Eliza Key; two half-brothers; a stepbrother; a stepsister; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with her mother Lucille, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Deven Gomber; and grandparents, James and Minnie Dunlap.
The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Friday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Allegan Eagles Club.
