Linda Anne Pullen, 77, of Allegan passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. with her loving family by her side.

Linda was born on July 25, 1941, in Allegan. She was the daughter of the late Shirley Clifford and Nancy Elizabeth (Cook) Snow and the wife of Charles (Chuck) Pullen.

In high school, Linda found her true calling–nursing. This passion started while volunteering as a candy striper at Allegan General Hospital.  After high school, she attended the University of Michigan; however, after a year she chose to transfer to Michigan State where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Throughout her career, Linda always showed that nursing was her true calling. She became the first nurse to work at the Allegan Development Center, then went on to work for the Allegan County Health Department where she was put in charge of home healthcare.

Eventually she retired from ACHD but continued giving to others by working part-time for Family Planning. She had a great way of putting people at ease and making them smile.

In her spare time, Linda enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and traveling. Playing cards with her friends and playing the ukulele, of which she had been a part of the Allegan Ukulele group, also brought her great enjoyment. However, time spent with her family and friends brought her the most joy. She cherished her moments with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they adored her.

Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Chuck, along with their children, Beth (Mike) Wheat, Amy (Tim) Owen and Chuck (Lorna) Pullen; seven grandchildren, Bill (Kim) Wheat, Tom (Heather) Wheat, Joe Ballmer, Jake Ballmer, Charlie Pullen, Heather Pullen and George Pullen; four great-grandchildren, Korbin, Colten, Owen and Evelyn Wheat; and two brothers, Taylor (Mary) Snow and Tom (Kathy) Snow.

Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, Feb. 3, at The Silo, 1071 32nd St. (M-40 South), Allegan, from 1 to 4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda’s name to the Julie Hunter Christmas Party for Children, Wings of Hope Hospice or Hospice of Holland. Inurnment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery.
