Lyle Rae Holden, 75, of Monterey Township, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at his home. Mr. Holden was born March 2, 1941, in Dearborn, the son of the late Earl and Mary (Grant) Holden. He graduated from Grand Rapids Central High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Lyle worked for the Lifesaver Company in Holland for 28 years, but work is work. What he really loved doing was building boats. He was fortunate enough to use his abilities to build various types of boats-Slickcraft, Morgan Yachts, AMF, Chris-Craft. Lyle was a very creative and handy individual. He could always figure out how to build or fix things.
In his spare time, you could find him watching or talking about NASCAR, playing a game of pool or just out riding his motorcycle or driving his Falcon and enjoying his surroundings.
He brought so much to life and shared his enthusiasm with others to make their lives better. He was a wonderful husband, a great father and an awesome grandpa.
Lyle is survived by his wife Ardice; four children, Debbie Arredondo, Kimberly Martel, Molly Holden and Lenny Delp; four grandchildren, Christopher, Briana, Michael and Samantha; nine great-grandchildren, Justin, Carson, Rayleigh, Sofia, Julius, Aubriana, Liam, Henry and Gracie; and one brother, John and Anne Holden.
He was preceded in death by his sister Lyla Mae Van Dine.
