Dorothy Jean Grigg, 94

Dorothy Jean Grigg, 94, passed away Aug. 19, 2018, at Premier Estates, North Platte, Neb.

Dorothy was born on Sept. 15, 1923, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Claude and Helen (Inman) Vredenberg. She met Charles R. Grigg in Fort Wayne and on Dec. 25, 1946, they were married.

The family lived in a variety of places as Charles traveled within the construction business and came to settle in Trenton, Neb., where they ran Sandy’s Café for 8 years. In 1966, they relocated to Pullman where they worked at the Fennville mushroom farm until they retired and moved to Sun City, Ariz.

Some of the many things that kept Dorothy going everyday were making quilts, making clothes that later she donated to the Indian Reservations as well as volunteering a lot of her time to the Salvation Army and driving for the Sun City Posse.

In the spring of 2017, Dorothy moved to North Platte, Neb., where she recently passed away. She is survived by her children Claude Wayne (Evelyn) Grigg of Fennville and Sharon Meduna of North Platte, Neb.; nine grandchildren, Renee (Bill) Hartman of Gary, Ind., George Gounaris of Erie, Pa., Christine (Tony) Snyder of Martin, William (Christy) Hardy of Columbia City, Ind., Samantha Hardy of Allegan, Tammy Grigg of Fennville, Anthony (Jaime) Hardy of Monroeville, Ind, Jon (Nashea) Meduna and Jay (Jessica) Meduna of North Platte, Neb., and Jessica (Tom) Sheer of Omaha, Neb.; 25 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Rita Reed and Marquerite Norris of Sun City, Ariz. And Donna (Richard) Romanouski of Glendale, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, son Roger Grigg, several brothers and sisters and one granddaughter Rachel.

Burial will be at Sundland Memorial Park in Sun City at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
