Donald Ray Tyrrell, 69, of Allegan passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018. Born on Jan. 28, 1949, in Allegan, he was the son of the late Warren and Margaret (Wellman) Tyrrell.

He was a certified arborist and worked for Consumers Energy for 35 years as a forester. Don was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. However, instead of using a gun to hunt with, Don would set up his trail cam and hunt for the perfect picture of the beautiful animals in their natural setting.

He also loved to be around people and thoroughly enjoyed a good conversation with friends and family. His presence in their lives will be greatly missed.

Don leaves behind his loving wife Diane; their son Robert Tyrrell; five grandchildren, Katelynn Tyrrell (Clint Phillips), Garret Tyrrell, Alex Tyrrell, Connor Tyrrell and Annaliese Tyrrell; two great-grandchildren, Grayce and Aylah; two brothers, John (Jackie) Tyrrell and Ronald Tyrrell; brother-in-law Kevin Stephenson; daughters-in-law, Brenda Polmanteer and Laury Furey; and Don’s best pal, Flint.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Darin Tyrrell and his sister Reba Stephenson.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made in Donald’s name to Wings of Hope Hospice, 530 Linn St., Allegan, MI  49010, or Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS  66675-8517.

Assisting the family with arrangements is Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com.
