Margaret H. Danes, 69, of Allegan passed away Saturday, April 23, in Holland Hospital. Margaret was born May 15, 1946, in Moorhead, Minn., the daughter of Joseph and Irene Follingstad, and had lived the majority of her life in the Allegan area.
Margaret was a very caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to take care of her family. She enjoyed cooking, swimming, fishing, being outside and loved playing cards and bingo.
Surviving are her husband, John Dee Danes Sr. whom she married Feb. 3, 1968; five children, Julie Thomson of Gobles, Jackie (Nick Parsons) Emmons of Allegan, Jennifer (Danny) Whaley of Allegan, Jack (Sarah) Danes of Gobles and John Danes Jr. of Allegan; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson; five sisters; a brother; a special sister-in-law, Punkin; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will meet friends on Wednesday, April 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gobles Chapel, D.L. Miller Funeral Home, 208 W. Main St., Gobles.
According to her wishes, cremation will follow the visitation and a memorial service will be at a later date.
The family suggests donations be made to Holland Hospital, Fund Development Program, 602 Michigan Ave.; Holland, MI 49423; to assist others in paying for medical bills.
