Albert R. Pugh, 66, of Allegan passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Lakeland Hospital in Benton Harbor. He was born Feb. 27, 1951, in Monterey, Tenn., to John and Edith (Laws) Pugh.

Albert had worked as a printer, a lumberjack and a meat processor throughout his working life. He was also an artist who liked working with oil paints and pen and ink.

Albert enjoyed collecting and reading comic books. He once hitchhiked to New York City to meet Stan Lee and got his autograph. He enjoyed reading many other types of material and keeping up to date with current political issues.

Albert found solace tending to his vegetable garden and making his own sauerkraut. He looked forward to daily talks with his good friend Jim, and loved nothing more than to catch a good yard sale.

Albert is survived by his wife of two years and companion for 29 years, Kathleen Evans; sister Sandy (Alan) Ouillette; sister-in-law Elaine Pugh; nieces, Beverly Pugh, Megan Ouillette, Audrey Ouillette, Becky Ouillette; and nephews, John (Erica) Pugh, Jay Reynolds and Caleb Ouillette.

He was preceded in death by his brother Rodger Pugh.

The family received friends at Chappell Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 4. A funeral service followed immediately after. Burial was at Pearl Cemetery.
