Anthony Jon Baker, 43, of Allegan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on Aug. 23, 1972.
Tony was a 1990 graduate of Pennfield High School and then served in the United States Army for 10 years in the infantry and as a recruiter for Allegan County.
Tony is survived by his parents, Gene (Sarah) Baker of Phoenix, Ariz., and Bernice (Ozzie) LaFleur of Battle Creek; companion Tory Francisco of Allegan; son Derek Anderson-Baker of Allegan; sisters, Leslie (Jason) Fields of Battle Creek and Monica (Carlos Nunez) Baker of Phoenix, Ariz.; step-brothers, Scott and Shawn Gehring; step-sister Sara Cunningham; maternal grandmother Maxine Rindels of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and a loving extended family.
Tony loved spending time with his son Derek. He was a master beer brewer and Lions football fan. He loved spending time with his dog "Brewer" and enjoyed fishing and visiting local breweries. He was a member of the Eagle Lodge.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, Battle Creek, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
