Floyd L. Decker Jr., 64, of Allegan passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017, at his home.
Floyd was born Jan. 22, 1953, in Allegan, the son of Floyd and Yvonne Decker and had lived in the Allegan area his entire life.
Floyd worked at Rockwell International until it closed and then joined the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office where he worked until retirement. He and his late wife Cindy also owned and operated the Chicora Country Store. After retirement, Floyd worked at the D. L. Miller Funeral Home for the past several years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and almost anything that would keep him outdoors. He loved to “tinker” with anything that had a motor and was a true do-it-yourself kind of guy. He loved spending time with family and friends especially his grandsons.
Surviving are his son Floyd III (Sara); grandsons Gabriel and Anson; siblings Bob (Kimmy), Roger (Penny), Rhonda Blynn, and James (Bonnie) Hoffman; special friends Barb and Gene Marr; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 42 years, Cindy; and his parents.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place.
The family will meet friends Friday, July 21, from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfunera lhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, Allegan.
