Gale Smith, 87, of Allegan passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017. He was born Dec. 15, 1929, and raised in Allegan. He served three years in the United States Navy and worked 25 years at the Kalamazoo Gazette as a typesetter.
Gale loved to read, fish and crafted a terrific cold duck. He enjoyed coffee with lifelong friends in Allegan for many years.
He is survived by his wife Vadra Hansen; sons, Greg (Robin), David (Fran), and Randolph (Robin); step-daughter, Amelia (Paul) Nehring; four grandchildren, Shane, Corinna, Ashley and Ashley; and five great-grandchildren.
