Kenneth William Milhiem Jr., 81, of Allegan passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, at his home. Mr. Milhiem was born in Grand Rapids on July 31, 1935, the son of the late Kenneth Sr. and Agnes (Barnes) Milhiem.
Kenneth was one of the owners and operators of Ken's Tire Service in Allegan for 46 years and also served as a volunteer fireman for 22 years. He was a member of the Allegan Fraternal Order of Eagles, 2315 Aerie.
He had a great passion for supporting athletics for Otsego, Hopkins and Allegan schools. He spent 12 years on the Chain Gang for Allegan High School football. He also had a great love of Detroit Tigers baseball.
He was a man of true integrity and had a great love for his family.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eleanor; their children, Keith Milhiem, Bruce and Sharon Milhiem, and Christine Milhiem; two grandchildren, Brent and Cari Milhiem and Amber and Chad Venderville; 4 1/2 great-grandchildren, Addison, Caden, Lucas, Kennadi and Elliot is on the way; his sister Joan Rininger; and sister-in-law Marlene Milhiem.
He was preceded in death by his brother Richard "Dick" Milhiem and brother-in-law Neven Rininger.
Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, March 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 22, at 11 a.m., Pastor Stephen Burrow officiating.
