Max L. Whisler, 85, of Allegan passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Allegan County Medical Care Community. He was born July 23, 1931, in Allegan, the son of the late Earl and Nellie (Prescott) Whisler.
Max and his late wife JoAnn were members of Allegan United Methodist Church. He was a TV repairman by trade and spent more than 40 years of his life fixing TVs. After retirement, he and JoAnn enjoyed spending their winters in Bowling Green, Fla.
Max is survived by his children, Ken (DeeAnn) Whisler and Jeff (Jaime) Whisler; five grandchildren, Melissa (Andy), Nicholas, Benjamin, Samantha (Erik), and Ashton; and four great-grandchildren, Archer, Addison, Aria, Karina and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn; their son Timothy; and five siblings, Doris Adams, Lyle Whisler Sr., Bernith Whisler, Beatrice Meyer and Barbara Brown.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be Saturday, March 18, at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow the funeral service at Allegan United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Mallory Cemetery, Trowbridge Township, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
