Tom Grant Draper, 71, died peacefully at his sister Beverly's home in Bonita Springs, Fla., on Sunday, Feb 26, 2017. Tom was born in Kalamazoo to Carl and Jane Draper on Aug. 31, 1945.
Tom was active in Boy Scouts earning his Eagle Scout and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was patrol leader of Otsego Troop 98. He spent many summers counseling at Boy Scout camps.
Tom lived many years out west where he worked as a tree trimmer where he was outside enjoying mother nature and the beautiful views. He was an avid reader and wrote many sonnets and poems.
Tom is survived by his sister Beverly and her husband Bill Cushman of Bonita Springs, Fla.; sister Barb Harmon of Tucson, Ariz.; and brother Tim Draper of Kalamazoo.
Tom was loved by his family and leaves many special cousins, nieces and nephews who all loved a good ole conversation with Uncle Tom.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Plainwell Church of Christ, 911 James St., Plainwell.
