Perry R. Burns, 56, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Jan. 31, 2017, in Copperas Cove, Texas. He was born April 11, 1960, in South Haven.
Perry grew up in rural Michigan farm country and spent many days as a typical country kid. He was a United States Army veteran but his passion was over-the-road truck driving. After he exited the Army, he drove truck for 35 years, having many adventures and seeing the United States.
He was a long time resident of Long Beach, Miss.
He is survived by his wife Dea Jones Burns of Long Beach, Miss.; mother Rose M. Burns of Copperas Cove, Texas; sisters, Mona (Burns) Nickles of Copperas Cove, Texas, Roberta (Burns) Molenkamp of Fennville and Tammy (Burns) Hancock of Gulfport, Miss.; his children, Marcus, Matthew and Gregory Burns; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert J. Burns, as well as grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and internment will be at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery, Hwy 195, Killeen, TX, on Feb. 17, at 1 p.m.
