Jack Whitacre Miller, 84

Jack Whitacre Miller, 84, of Kalamazoo passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016.  Mr. Miller was born June 7, 1932, in Allegan, the son of the late William and Nona (Whitacre) Miller.  
He was a member of the Allegan High School Class of 1951 and served in the United States Air Force until retiring in 1973; he then went on to be a medical assistant in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., until retiring in 1994.  
Jack relished world travel while in the Air Force and had a lifetime love of music and flying. He was a former member of the Allegan Elks Lodge1621 B.P.O.E., Allegan Eagles Aerie 2315 and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife Karen; son David Miller; granddaughter Danielle; Karen's sons, John Stegeman and wife Linda, Thomas Stegeman and wife Lori and their children, Sean and Paige Stegeman; one sister Dorothy Miller; one nephew who was like a brother, Donald W. Brown and his wife Luann; many nieces and nephews; sister and brother-in-law, Neysa and Carl Geupel; several dear friends; and his toy poodle and "walking" buddy, Ashley.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alyce; sisters, Virginia Brown and Donna Funk; and brother William Miller.
Private services will be for immediate family where Jack will be interred at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta.
