Rodney Darl DeHaan was born Oct. 16, 1951, in Allegan, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 17, 2016, at Allegan County Medical Care Community.
Rod was a 1969 graduate of Allegan High School. He worked at Checker Cab, Rockwell International and SP Industries in Hopkins.
He is survived by his wife, Janis (Banks); his sons, Daniel (Brittany) of Holland, Jason (Kristin) Hileski of Roebuck, S.C.; his grandchildren, Amelia and Avery DeHaan and Christopher, Ashley, Dillon (Jessica), Devin, Michael and Noah Hileski; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Caiden and Carson. His siblings are Yvonne (Dave) Reimink, Tim (Sue), Mike (Sue) and Marc (Jan), all of Allegan, and Kathy (Scott) Groenewoud of West Olive; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Denise Marie; granddaughter Devon Brooke; parents, George and Geraldine (Grigsby); and brother Randy (Michelle) of La Verne, Calif.
The family would like to acknowledge the many caregivers Rod has had over the last 23 years. What a blessing they were in his life.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
