Richard “Dick” Philo Crisman Sr., 77, of Allegan, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at his home. Mr. Crisman was born Jan. 11, 1939, in Allegan, the son of the late George P. and Josephine E. (Pifer) Crisman.

Dick was a mechanic by trade and spent over 25 years working at an auto sales dealership, Gordon Bahre, in Allegan. While most men might find mowing the lawn more like a job, Dick loved to mow the grass and enjoyed being outside in the fresh air. He also spent time strumming on the guitar.

With his large family, spending time together was always entertaining with much smiles and laughter being shared. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving is Dick’s loving wife, Sharon; his nine children, Richard and Corinne Crisman, Renda and Ray Raab, Ronda and Jim Weeks, Robin and Alan Dumont, Roxana and Scott Swaim, Terry Burkhead, Mike and Ruth Burkhead, Gilbert Burkhead, and Karla Steinke; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother Roger “Pete” Crisman and Bunny Showers; and his stepsister, Mary Tourangeau.

He was preceded in death by four sisters: Joann, Barbara, Betty and Maxine.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, Dec. 1, from noon to 1 p.m. at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, where the funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Pastor Dan Holly officiating. Arrangements were made through Gorden Funeral Residence, www.gordenfuneral.com.
