Ernest Nicks, 80, of Saugatuck, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born Aug. 9, 1936, in High Splint, Ky., and has spent more than 50 years in the Saugatuck area.
Ernest worked for Harris Pie in Saugatuck for more than 25 years, and also worked for TLC in Holland. He truly enjoyed woodworking and selling his projects.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Irma (Gleason) Nicks of Saugatuck; children, David and Chris Nicks of Pullman, Terri Nicks of Kingsley, John Nicks of Fife Lake, Sheila McKeehan of Corbin, Ky., Lisa Lawson of Corbin, Ky.; siblings, Janice, Emma, Brenda, Kathy, Henrietta, Tami and Jack of Williamsburg, Ky.; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
At Ernest's request, cremation has taken place and a service will be Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Saugatuck.
